Dank an alle

Lukas’s night by Joanne and Frank

It was an illusion that we can go to the hospital in the morning, and in the evening the baby will be there. And we had to know it, because Lukas was born during the night, too. So did Sarah.

And we were very happy, that Lukas had found a place to sleep by Joanne and Frank, our sponsors. A short call, a ten minutes drive, and Frank said to me: “Don’t worry about Lukas, just look to your wife and the baby. Lukas will be fine with us.” And he did.

We are grateful, that I had the possibility to stay with Daniela during the night and the delivery and that Lukas had a good time with you and the grandmother. We can only say: Thank you, we don’t take this for granted!

We also thank for the present for Sarah, the three sweet bodies! They are so nice! And with the fire-fighter truck, that Lukas received, you hit the bull’s eye!

A visit from the ISD staff

Imagine a hospital based inside a military training centre. Your relatives are thousands of miles away, and you arrived just before three weeks. You don’t know a lot of people there – and the people you met during the period on post don’t know that you had your delivery just last night nor do they know your cell phone number.

So, you are lying in your hospital bed in the room number 11, division labor and delivery. Your 18 hours old daughter is sleeping in your arms. Then opens the door, and there enter a few people, namely the staff of the International Student Division. It would be big surprise!

So thank you all from the ISD for that nice visit, for the lovely words in the beautiful card, and the present! The image will receive a place of honor! Thanks for the time and the talks! You are great!
